Sahara Desert Trek...Fundraising Begins !
(Posted by Mark, 11th November 2007)

The Macmillan Sahara Trek looms closer, and training started (kind of) a couple of weeks ago with some 2 and 3 hour walks in the hills around our village in Andalucia, Spain. I have commandeered the company of my 7 year old son, Dylan, who reminds me that being 41 and eager to make a difference in the world is not the same as being a 7 year old, nimble mountain goatboy.

Dyl is selling Christmas cards (drawn by his fair hand) to raise money for Macmillan and is chipping away at the £2500 target every day. Myself and other friends and family are inspiring/pestering friends and colleagues to make a contribution, however small, to prove that many hands make light work.

Jen, Tam and I will be very proud to achieve our £2500 (each) target for Macmillan, and hope that you will follow my progress and support me if you can. Donations can be made using the widget below, or you can follow the link below :

Thank you in advance :-)

Ahhhhhhh - summer holidays - we've all had
what we reckon is a well-earned break, and
hit the beach for our hols.

We hope that those of you who've
managed to get away have had a great
time, and are feeling refreshed !

You'll notice we've added a new category
to our eCard menu - 'Sports' !

We've gathered some fantastic sporting
action shots that are guaranteed to get
the adrenaline pumping.

Click here to browse the whole 'Sports'
gallery - and check back to see what we
add over the next few weeks !

We're happy to report that having
beavered away making an application
for the incredible Facebook, featuring our
very popular 'Beautiful Planet' eCards, we
already have 1,069 users and counting.

If you're a member of Facebook, just click
on Applications and search for
Beautiful Planet - you'll be able to have
gorgeous images, inspiring quotes and
soothing music on your facebook profile.

If you haven't seen the Beautiful Planet
eCards on Spreading The Love, just

We're very, very keen to make sure
all the eCards you send are actually read.

Hotmail is a great service and we don't
want to knock it, but they do have a rather
strict policy when it comes to Spam
control, that other webmail services such
as Gmail and Yahoo don't have.

What they do is send any email that
comes from an address that is not on
your Safe List straight to the junk folder.

To help you we sent you all an email so
that you could send it to all your friends
telling them to add our email address to
their Safe List. If you didn't get that, or
forgot to do it, here is a link to the same
text that you can cut and paste and send to all your friends and family now.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, just drop us a line.

See you in a couple of weeks.
Spreading The Love accross the Sahara Desert...
(Posted by Mark, 23rd August 2007)

Just a quick blog entry to say Jen and I have just signed up to trek accross the Sahara in Feb 2008 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Apparently we're going to trek 7 to 8 hours a day for 10 days across the desert, so we think we'd better start training very soon - I wonder if there'll be a blog entry in Feb about blisters !

If you fancy getting involved, and raising some money for a very good cause, check out Macmillan's Website

See you soon,

Mark

Last week, Kal, Adam and I went back to
London for a few days for meetings etc.
and we just wanted to thank all the
creative and helpful people we met up
with.

Spreading The Love will be growing in
new and wonderful ways over the next
couple of months, and we're very
excited - so watch this space !

Mark has a gorgeous and quite bonkers
little boy called Louie (who's very excited
about his own birthday on the 18th)

We thought it would be fun to get him into
a recording studio and ask him to sing
'Happy Birthday' for us, while we all
dance around, as we sometimes like to.

But Louie just couldn't do it without
laughing, which had us all in stitches.

Let us know if you love Louie's Happy
Birthday eCard
(which Louie drew
himself) as much as we do, and we'll ask
him nicely if he'll do some more.
(Some choccies might just swing it !)

We were quite bad at remembering
our friends' and family's birthdays.

So we created 'Reminders' - a simple
way of making sure you don't forget
birthdays, anniversarys, or any other
special dates in your life.

Simply go to 'My Account', click
'Reminders' and then click 'Add
Reminder'
.

Here you can set up to two reminders for
each of your contacts, (which you recieve
via email), in plenty of time to send them
an eCard - simple.

We're very, very keen to make sure
all the eCards you send are actually read.

Hotmail is a great service and we don't

See you in a couple of weeks.

We just wanted to say that as well as
sending eCards for Birthdays, Valentines
Day, Christmas etc, we're always
adding new eCards so you can keep in
touch with friends and family, and just
say Hi !

Hi - see you in the pub this evening...
Hi - we're having a BBQ at the weekend...
Hi - good luck with the job interview...
Hi - thanks for my gorgeous pressie...

you get the picture...!

We are proud to announce that our
'Beautiful Planet' eCards now come with
sound !

Adam (see below) has brought these
beautiful images to life by adding his
soundscapes to 14 of these gorgeous
and inspiring new eCards. Enjoy.

We are very happy to welcome Adam to
the Spreading The Love Team - he brings
with him a wealth of skills, including
music. (And comedy, but more of that
later !)

He has already proven his commitment to
STL, by staying up literally all night to
make sure all the gorgeous sounds for the
'Beautiful Planet' eCards was ready, so
we could include them in this Newsletter -
impressive, Ads - it's amazing what 14
cans of Hype Energy Drink will inspire !

We're very, very keen to make sure
all the eCards you send are actually read.
